21st Century Slaves
Acrylic

Use of acrylic spread through the whole piece use of mostly primary colors

Piece came from thoughts of how African-American's are still somewhat slaves in this century but yet African-American slave owners are there selves. As with the killing, robbing, raping, each other and the black on black crime that's yet still going on in the African-American world than loving each other as Brothers and Sisters. Yet people is still attempting to blame "The Man" or anyone than blaming themselves, not noticing it's are own kind doing the damage here still placing ourselves as slaves which is something we tried to disappear. Which you see the slave chains across this neck and wrist with urban clothing. While however with this it's showing the man that he still believe that OUR black culture will come together holding up the fist representing "Black Power". This piece has deep meanings to it, you take it as you receive it but this represent the blacks and how there still slaves just not without the chains and whips. Also this time it's not only "The Man" that's the owner but also "The African-Americans.
