Wood and Acrylic

Use of bright colors throughout the piece

I asked others on what it represent to them:
-To me, this piece represents the inner you coming out. Balloons and flowers are two different objects, so the fact that balloons get released when the flower "opens up" makes me think that maybe the flower wants to be something else, or is something else on the inside. -Mya Hyman
-To me, this piece inspires me to unleash my inner self, not act as something im not. The balloons make make me feel like living freely with out any doubts. - :Linzee Jones
-In my eyes this piece represents the releasing of the inner soul. Even though it's already beautiful it goes to show that there's more within.  -Mia Hyman
-The artwork expresses a new beginning that there is more to the flower than you can see. That's why you see that the flower is unfolding and showing that it's layers are peeling away. This new adventure causes you to make you think about you internal self to help you peel away layers that people haven't seen and in the end you'll will be better in life. Everyday is always a new beginning!! -Aliyah G.

Who Will Lead...

Wood and Acrylic

Use of darker value of coloring throughout the piece

This was inspired by the fascination of the Lion of how much it represents. In this piece it shows a Lion with a body and blow the Lion is grass but within the grass in the world. This piece explains that the world needs a leader, needs someone with pride and enough power to lead the world to the hands of God. As which I use the lion head since that's what a Lion represent. There's also more to the piece but I will like for you to email me your opinion on the piece at rineyaustin@yahoo.com

Wood and Acrylic

Use of primary colors throughout the piece

Inspired by an Older Lady I met and also a reading that said "Only if there was one place we can take are African-American brothers and sisters somewhere peaceful, somewhere were's there's no war or anything. Just the breeze in the sun, and this can happen one day, only if we have Faith". Which I drew the beach, somewhere that seems peaceful also with the umbrella that's representing African-Americans (as you can see by the coloring on the umbrella) leaning over, not standing strong. While there is the balloon also in the colors of red, black, and green representing there is still African-Americans that's attempting to pull up the lost one's. Along with text in the sand.

The rose represent not only that but also the World is dying slowly. But the water above represents blessings coming down, represent there's still faith. There's also text within the water.

21st Century Slaves by Tyler Riney

21st Century Slaves by Tyler Riney
21st Century Slaves
Acrylic

Use of acrylic spread through the whole piece use of mostly primary colors

Piece came from thoughts of how African-American's are still somewhat slaves in this century but yet African-American slave owners are there selves. As with the killing, robbing, raping, each other and the black on black crime that's yet still going on in the African-American world than loving each other as Brothers and Sisters. Yet people is still attempting to blame "The Man" or anyone than blaming themselves, not noticing it's are own kind doing the damage here still placing ourselves as slaves which is something we tried to disappear. Which you see the slave chains across this neck and wrist with urban clothing. While however with this it's showing the man that he still believe that OUR black culture will come together holding up the fist representing "Black Power". This piece has deep meanings to it, you take it as you receive it but this represent the blacks and how there still slaves just not without the chains and whips. Also this time it's not only "The Man" that's the owner but also "The African-Americans.
